Per the video provided:
“Coach Spurrier said that next time we saw you, ask if you would ever make any kind of proclamation like (Tim) Tebow made.”
-Reporter after The Outback Bowl
“Umm, I guess it’s kind of tough to make that when, you know, you’re not playing full time. But, um, I’m going to try to work as hard as possible.”
-Stephen Garcia
Only a week later, Garcia would be handed that full-time position needed to help ease any commitment to working harder than anyone.
Stephen, the time is now.
The path is cleared for you to take control of a sputtering offense, make a name for yourself (for all the right reasons) and become the quarterback we all know you can become.
There’s a catch. Though God may have struck your right arm with a thunderbolt, you need to do the rest. This does not mean enjoy the off season while mentally preparing for your first spring practice. Champions have no off season.
You need to start the hard work now. For you, spring practice started the moment the time clock hit all zeros on that ugly scoreboard in Raymond James stadium – if you truly want to become “the man,” that is.
You said it, “I guess it’s kind of tough to make that when, you know, you’re not playing full time.”
Is Coach Spurrier tough on you at times? Hell yes, he is. Like Kid Rock says, “They say I’m cocky and I say, ‘What?’ It ain’t braggin’ mother ******, if you back it up.”
He’s been a Heisman quarterback, coached a Heisman quarterback, sent quarterbacks to National Championships and the NFL, coached in the NFL and is considered a legend in the coaching industry.

Another legendary coach once said, "Nobody ever drowned in sweat."
They can back up their words.
Can you?
They can back up their words.
Can you?
